About Thatcher Airplanes
In 2004, the first Thatcher CX4 single-seat airplane lifted off the ground, and now, 14 years later, hundreds of plans have been sold, and over 50 CX4s have flown. David Thatcher, Sr. designed the CX4 to be easy to build, easy to fly, and easy on your wallet.
In 2013 the CX5 two place airplane took flight, and gives you the ability to introduce aviation to a passenger, via tandem seating.
The CX7, a two place side-by-side airplane, is under development, and is expected to be flying in 2018.
ThatcherAircraft.com is owned and operated by Avialoft, LLC, for the purpose of promoting these wonderful planes, and as a way to market and sell the parts and kits to build them.
Avialoft, LLC is located in Kearney, NE, and is operated by Ben Carlson (that’s me!). In the 1990’s, I worked as a machinist, as well as for Carl Zeiss IMT, and was involved in the design and development of two of their Coordinate Measurement Machines before leaving to focus on programming. I eventually became a Technical Architect, and worked on projects for Conde Nast, Nintendo, Fox Racing, Toshiba, and many others.
In February of 2018, the opportunity to manufacture Thatcher airplanes fell into my lap, and after much prayer and deliberation, I jumped at the chance. Thatcher Aircraft is based in Kearney, Nebraska, USA. Please shoot me an email ([email protected]) or a call (972-632-6901) with any questions.
