About Thatcher Airplanes
In 2004, the first Thatcher CX4 single-seat airplane lifted off the ground, and now, 16 years later, hundreds of plans have been sold, and over 60 CX4s and a handful of CX5s have flown. David Thatcher, Sr. designed the CX4 to be easy to build, easy to fly, and easy on your wallet.
In 2013 the CX5 two place airplane took flight, and gives you the ability to introduce aviation to a passenger, via tandem seating. Many are being built and a handful are flying in 2020.
The CX7, a two place side-by-side airplane, is complete and inspected, and is expected to be flying in 2020.

My dad was flying before I was born, and although due to the expense of having a family he didn’t buy his first plane until the 1990’s, he always had a passion for them, which he handed down to his kids. We had neighbors who flew a Cessna 140, and it’s my first memories of being in a GA airplane when I was still in my single-digits.
In February of 2018, the opportunity to manufacture Thatcher airplanes fell into my lap, and after much prayer and deliberation, I jumped at the chance. Thatcher Aircraft is based in Kearney, Nebraska, USA. Please shoot me an email ([email protected]) or a call (972-632-6901) with any questions.
